So why start?

For many years I've followed a number of interesting, informative and entertaining blogs. I've often though of writing one myself, especially when I first got involved in local government politics, but never quite got around to it. Late last year I booked myself a holiday in Europe, travelling via Singapore. Instead of sending postcards and e-mails back to friends and family, I finally decided to plunge in to the twenty first century and blog as I go.... so here we are!
